Write to your MEP

Mon, 31/03/2014 - 20:42 -- admin

Between 22 and 25 May 2014 elections to the European Parliament will be held in all member states of the European Union. This presents us with a great opportunity to contact our MEPs and to ask them to raise the Carmenes del Mar cause in the European Parliament. By demonstrating to the Spanish administration that our case is an international issue that reflects badly on Spain's attempts to encourage tourism and external investment, we hope to encourage the Junta de Andalucia and Central Government in Madrid to act to protect our homes and our investments.

A number of neighbours have already received encouraging replies from their MEPs. We encourage everyone to send an email or letter to their local representative and to let us know what response they get. You can find the email address of your MEP on the following website: Find your MEP

Attached are sample letters in English, Spanish, French and German, as well as a copy of the reply one of our neighbours received from her MEP.

However, we encourage our neighbours of all other nationalities to do likewise and contact their embassy or consulate and ask them to please support their compatriots in our struggle to preserve and protect our homes in Carmenes del Mar.

Here follows the text of a sample letter that you can use to contact your Embassy and ask them to rasie their concerns with the ...
